News Editor

News contributors promote TLDP's public image.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate news items to be included in TLDP's newsletter.
• Fact check news items.
• Markup items according to DocBook template for TLDP news.
• Commit new information to CVS.
• Publish news via the web and RSS feed.

Commitment

Approximately four hours per month is required to be a news editor. This time commitment is spread evenly throughout the month.

Qualifications

A familiarity with current events at TLDP is required as are good written language skills. Editors should understand how to use CVS.

Supervision

Peer feedback is obtained from TLDP's general discussion mailing list.

Training

There is no formal training for this position.

Filling of a news editor position must be agreed upon by current editor(s) and/or the TLDP webmaster(s).
